Review of Police Story (1985) by Marcus T — 05 Jul 2008
If without the final blast towards the hierachical and phony police system in H.K. this film would have fallen into the category of the "film of spectacle", full of fantastic actions, gigs, but lack of any depth.
But Jackie Chan's self-realization of the "insignificant figure" himself, rise and fall because of the imposed system, reveals the humane glitter in the distorted world, where law is only a shield protecting the rich and a discourse imputing the poor.
