Review of Police, Adjective (2010) by Jonas J — 06 Mar 2010
I have a few adjective for Police, Adjective: boring. mundane. I'm a seasoned film-goer, seeing at least 100 to 150 a year. Also, I am no stranger to slow films and despise when people say "nothing happened," while missing the layer or intricacies of scenes.
I too am a big fan of minimalist film-making. Police, Adjective has been described as a "thinking" film, as minimalist. I say it is none of that. The first 40 minutes consist of the main character simply shifting position, from one street to the next.
There are moments of mild humor, particular the few domestic situations at home, however, beyond that, there is nothing there. Perhaps there was some point to be made about how mundane police work really is, and if so, I agree wholeheartedly that it is.
That being said, it DOES NOT make for an interesting film.
