List of pluses and minuses:
+ Patrick Swayze is a great actor and his character is actually well thought-of.
- but the other characters are just too one dimensional.
- portrays surfers not as sportspeople but as some kinds of bums and criminals.
- the film didn't really have much surfing at all.
- what is lacking in depth of characters and story, is filled with violence and bad lines.
The film's potential is wasted by one-dimensional people and centering on violence, and not really having any surfing even though the movie is supposed to be about a hunt for _surfer_ criminals. Some of the dialogue is really cliched, too..
