The shit! This is what revenge is all about, uncompromising & violent with a strong subtext or alternative reading, if you wanna dig a little deeper. In a lesser filmmakers hands this would have been run o' the mill shit but Boorman's use of impressionistic editing to create meaning combined with the immense talent of Lee Marvin makes it a winner indeed.
