Review of Point Blank (1967) by Joe B — 15 Sep 2012
This is classic. It's a simple story of revenge. However, the way the film is made is fantastic. The use of sound, skewed camera angles, architecture, an odd sense of displacement all make for a very experimental and surreal film.
Lee Marvin is great as always. Completely amoral. The only that matters to his character is getting his money owed to him by his crooked friend who double-crossed him. He's stoic and will kill anybody with no emotion to get what he wants.
And he's the good guy.
