Review of Pocket Listing (2016) by Taylorman — 25 Aug 2017
Another addition to the American Dream gone wrong genre, this time the unattainable image of wealth and power being personified by high-end L.A. real estate in general and one particularly lavish Malibu villa in particular.
The film follows a familiar rise and fall formula at the get go but really picks up when the "house hustle" concerning the titular deal gets into play. Also worth mentioning are the commendable and engaging performances which anchor the film, especially James Jurdi as the kind of slick but sympathetic yuppie we can't help but root for and Jessica Clark as a breathtaking seductress who could wrap any power player (small or large) around her finger.
