Review of Please Vote for Me (2007) by Mario J — 08 Nov 2008
Very interesting documentary about the democratic voting for the class monitor, set in a communist China. Although this movie could hold a deeper meaning, trying to show whether democracy is the best system we have, I did not look at the movie in that way, but rather like a movie that is very interesting and shows the subtle diferences between two increasingly more similar cultures (western and eastern), and the exaggarated and artificially overly competitive race for the class monitor in an elementary school.
On the downside, I did want more, it ended kinda too early, and it looked like the kids were told what to say and what to do.
