Pleasantville is a masterpiece. It's a terrific motion picture and the film works on so many emotional levels. One can look at it as a comedic picture or one can focus more on the characters since everyone is important in this film.
It is also a study about life and points a finger to the older generation's opposition to change. In order for the world to grow, society needs to change and as society changes so does the technology.
It's amazing Pleasantville never looses it's narrative and I admired that the film pays tribute to past films like "Do The Right Thing", "The Wizard of Oz" and "To Kill a Mockingbird ".
