Review of Pleasantville (1998) by Bigjon1958 — 30 May 2016
Many reviews refer to the Adam & Eve comparison and that is probably a good comparison. An interesting and unique story. One of those stories that hasn't played over and over again in many Hollywood movies different variations (think Friday the 13th, Godzilla, every Alien movie since the first one, etc.
). The acting was okay and they played their characters well. And besides the Adam & Eve comparison, there is the also an angle representing prejudice in the movie. The ending (last 5 minutes) of the movie was a bit of a disappointment - little surprising in how, where, and with whom the main characters finished the movie.
Overall an above average movie.
