Review of Play Misty for Me (1971) by Sage H — 19 Aug 2013
Grade: B+.
For his directorial debut, Mr. Eastwood did a fine job crafting a great suspense thriller. His performance is always solid but what marked the movie as a true hit was the performance by Jessica Walter, who portrayed a psychotic and obsessed radio fan perfectly and believably. The concept was original, the twists and turns were placed well into the film and the suspense kept you wondering how far this obsessor would go to win the love of her life. Clint created not only a relatable character, but a relatable premise. This movie is very well crafted for any and all Clint fans alike.
