Review of Play It Again, Sam (1972) by Tom D — 12 Jul 2007
A distinct highlight of W.A.'s earliest work, here his scripting gets to combine his neurotic personality with his fanboy dedication to old film in a cleverly-observed jump-off from Casablanca. Allan Felix is painfully empathetic at times, bitterly funny at others.
Note: it helps if you've seen 'Casablanca'.
