Review of Platoon (1986) by Josh H — 10 May 2011
Platoon is an ultra-realistic film about the Vietnam War. Told through the eye of the controversial Oliver Stone; Platoon accomplishes something most war films don't even scratch-it makes us relate, not as soldiers but as people.
The human element, and the psychological portrait of a group of men who only have the war.
With great performances from Tom Berenger, Willem Dafoe, and Charlie Sheen; Platoon is an iconic war film.
