Vietnam war veteran Oliver Stone gives a down to earth view on his experiences during the conflict. Academy award winner for best picture, Platoon will not only change your views on the Vietnam war in its tale, but will keep you on you toes throughout.
The effects may seem out of date compared to films such as Apocalypse Now, but they are overthrown by the well created sets, the intriguing story and the perfectly played roles by Tom Berenger, Williem Dafoe and Charlie Sheen.
My favourite war film 100%.
