Review of Platoon (1986) by Robyn M — 28 Aug 2012
Platoon- Best war feature i've ever seen.
No other war film compares the magnitude of horror, truth and developement of chacter like Oliver stone did with Platoon. It's funny every actor who starred in it has now become household names. If I didn't look twice I would have missed Johnny deeps cameo. Directors try to be like stone and make films with his Noir appeal but it will never get better then this.
Platoon saw war from all sides not just the soliders but the eyes of civilians who were trapped in this cold blood fest and for what? Charlie sheens character made a point-USA didn't go out to vietnam to fight each other but only themselves. There was no right only wrong!
