Review of Platoon (1986) by Michael S — 08 Aug 2015
Berenger and Dafoe tear up the screen as opposing forces that represent chaos and order, Sheen and the rest of the platoon fall in nicely behind them in what is one of the best if not the best depiction of the Vietnam war.
Extremely graphic from start to finish Stone doesn't hold anything back as all the politics of war and the breakdown of the human code of life is lain bare to show how one can completely lose themselves and not know the difference between right and wrong.
Not only is the acting top notch, the score is haunting during every motion whether it be surveying the damage of just hanging out at camp. Pure masterpiece.
