Very realistic and gritty portrayal of the Vietnam War. This movie is full of many famous actors before they were big like Charlie Sheen, Willem Dafoe, and Johnny Depp. It was nice seeing all these recognizable people in one movie, but I feel like it somewhat takes away from the experience.
Platoon is a very good war movie, however, it lacks action and focuses more on the characters which seems to be way more realistic. However, it felt a bit slow at parts to me and the ending really pissed me off.
