Review of Platoon (1986) by Min K — 12 Oct 2011
Wow. One of the most gripping war films. Ever. Platoon is so well-shot, you completely forget you're watching a movie and are thrown right into the ugliness and confusion of the worst side of war. Some of the most realistic battle scenes are housed in this drama, made all the more real with a flurry of excellent actors.
My only criticism is that some of the more pointed dialogue and voice overs felt a tad bit lofty in comparison with the grit portrayed in the rest of the film. However, this criticism is minor. This film is a much-needed reminder of our own mortality and the horrors we are capable of as humans.
