Review of Platoon (1986) by Calvin C — 29 Oct 2011
Best Picture Winner of 1986, this is Oliver Stone's masterpiece and one of the best war films of its decade. Very raw, violent, and disturbing, it is less about the war itself than the war from within. The internal struggles in the platoon alone is filled with lots of drama and tension. There were some scenes where it is almost hard not to turn away. This movie will grab you and won't let go for the entire 2 hours.
Grade: A-.
