Review of Platoon (1986) by Christian John V — 05 Nov 2011
This is a good film, yes but I feel like I am repeatedly cudgeled by the horrors of the Vietnam War. I know wars are grisly and violent and some soldiers experience bildungsroman. But after the beauty of Apocalypse Now and The Deer Hunter, Platoon loses its credibility.
