Review of Platoon (1986) by Brian W — 27 Mar 2012
Oliver Stone's Platoon seems to glorify the Vietnam war too much. When comparing this film to Full Metal Jacket and The Deer Hunter, it really does not hold its own. Platoon fails at really showing the full gravirty of the kind of war that we were fighting at the time.
The film takes one side of the story and runs with it. It ultimately makes the film less real and more fantasy.
