Review of Platoon (1986) by David E — 03 Sep 2012
Winner of 4 Oscars including Best Picture & directed by Oliver Stone (who also won Best Director), "Platoon" represents the dark time when Stone was actually in the Vietnam War, which is clearly shown by the film's horrifying battle sequences, apathetic/sadistic characters, & intense despair/shell-shock.
A great film (still prefer "Apocalypse Now", though) to watch whenever!
