Review of Platoon (1986) by Shounak B — 23 Feb 2013
A nice war film with so much sentimental melodrama staffed into itself. The main problem lies in the script to me where the complete war becomes a bullfight between two individual soldiers only. So predictable ending, and the only brilliant ending got very much over the top to massacre in only a soldier's death(Willem Dafoe's).
Only positive thing is the nightlong climax, maturely handed. Though the film points out the flaws of Vietnam war,but in a wrong way unfortunately.
