Review of Platoon (1986) by Turin C — 20 Feb 2015
Platoon is perfect example of a film where Charlie Sheen was able to make you take him serious. He gives a heartfelt performance of the morally dedicated Vietnam soldier. It's almost hard to believe the guy from 2.
5 Men used to be like this. This film may not be the most brutal Vietnam film ever made, but it's very emotionally engaging. It shows shows THAt some of the soldiers stationed in Vietnam May not have been as heroic as some people think.
The murder and rape of villagers is explored, and I like that. It paints war as hell.Something that not only hurts soldiers, but the natives as well. It's not as grizzly as say Black Hawk Down, but it makes you loathe combat just as much.
