HAHAHA OKAAY DUDE, NOW I HAVE TO SAY ROBERT RODRIGUEZ IS A JOKER! Those splashing and smashing scenes are just sweet, man. You really made a tribute to Grindhouse. You beat the one and only Quentin Tarantino (well, Quentin wasn't aiming at the top this time, he had other intentions) and even got him to play a crazy character in your flick.
The movie is fucking awesome. It is as much innovative as a movie can be, and gets as much entertaining as a movie can get. But, now let's analyse it in cinema terms. Okay, Robert made a well done flick, but his characters still get very silly, and not in a good way.
El Wray, for example. He entertains the spectator in a popcorn-movie-hero way, but doesn't get to be very brilliant. Because of the bad characters, I can't say whether Freddy Rodriguez acted well or not, as it could be the character's fault.
But I can say that, Josh Brolin, forgetting all that bad-characters stuff and all, did a very weak job. No matter how bad his character was, I'm sure it was also Josh's fault. I like Brolin's works a lot, but man, you gotta admit there was something wrong with what he did in Planet Terror.
This movie is still fucking awesome, and don't focus on the mistakes of Robert that much, because you must remember that his movies are always good jokes. He isn't Tarantino, nor obviously Scorsese nor Coppola nor Coen.
He is a more relaxed director, which just makes fun movies which sometimes are good (like this case) and sometimes are just to have a decent time.
