Review of Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987) by Robert D — 11 Apr 2010
In my opinion John Hughes is a comic genius. All of his movies have great characters and simple, but somewhat realistic humor that everyone can appreciate. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is hilarious and stars both Steve Martin and John Candy, who are both amazing.
The story feels very familiar if you've seen other John Hughes films, but that's ok, because each one of his movies bring a unique twist and keeps things fresh and funny. The only regret I have when watching this movie is that John Candy is not around any more to make more films like it.
