Review of Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957) by Catherine S — 09 Jul 2010
Ah, another movie to waste your morning with. My friend and I already had an idea on how terrible it was, which was the whole reason we watched it. We ended up laughing throughout the entire film. It was terrible.
One of the many problems with Plan 9 is that it tries to be serious, and fails at it. It's not hideously bad, I'll admit it. But it wasn't bad enough to be good. The flubs in the sets and scripts were about the only great things in the movie.
For example, the "flying saucers" with visible strings attached to them. Or the obvious boom lifts appearing in a "plane cockpit". Needless to say, it was not as bad as I expected it to be.
It was not great, but it was no Jaws: The Revenge.
