Review of Plan 9 from Outer Space (1957) by Sherief Z — 06 Apr 2015
Starring string-powered flying saucers and a postmortem Bela Lugosi (Ed Wood's chiropractor stood in with a cape held over his face after Lugosi's death), this legendary bad movie is Edward D. Wood, Jr's Citizen Kane. Apparently.
It's full of goofs, recycled footage and actors delivering their lines with the charisma of a cucumber, but by far the worst thing about 'Plan 9 From Outer Space' is that it's never quite as funny as the myth and legend that surrounds it. In fact, it's about the dreariest thing you'll ever see on screen. Save your sanity and go watch Tim Burton's biopic instead.
