Review of Pitch Perfect (2012) by Evan M — 27 Nov 2018
This film initially seemed a prime candidate for your typical family-friendly musical, perhaps nothing more than a mediocre rip-off of Hairspray. However, as I began watching, I uncovered the truth was far worse.
The jokes revolving around sex are hackneyed and unending, and almost all of the humor falls flat on it's face. The only points this movie can earn are due to the passable music choices, occasionally acceptable acting and no glaring technical issues, but I can confidently say there is nothing enjoyable about this film.
If you are forced to watch this film, perhaps dragged into it by a female friend or young kids, be sure to keep a hammer nearby to beat yourself over the head with, in order to numb the pain this film induces.
