Review of Pitch Perfect 2 (2015) by Anthony K — 19 Jun 2015

Managed to pull the same great trick its predecessor did - being better than expected. You'd think that couldn't happen twice, but then again the first movie seemed to capture lightning in a bottle with its combination of clever dialogue, quick wit, fast pacing, and (most remarkably) its ability to turn a Capella singing into sheer spectacle.

This film doubles down on that last bit with strong results. The jokes really do feel more tired this time, though, but still hit closer (just a bit) than they miss.
