The natural place to start is to compare this to the first one. I would say the music isn't as good, but the plot is a little better. I think I actually laughed more at this movie than the last one.
I thought the additions of Hailee Steinfeld and Keegan Michael Key really helped. My favorite song was actually the Christmas mashup between Anna Kendrick and Snoop Dogg. Overall I would say it was a little better than I was expecting.
