Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) by Shane K — 30 Jun 2013
Note: This review is not just for this movie but for the rest of the movies have been made so far as well. Johnny Depp stands out as a great character named Captain Jack Sparrow, He's able to take this character in to be a mysterious, funny, and an adventure fun character that we like to see more more to come.
However having said that I feel as if the reason that we adore Captain Jack Sparrow so much is because of the side characters played by Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley Ian McShane Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush they play the characters so well that they make Jack shine by himself.
The actors do a terrific job for playing their characters but I also feel as I watch the movie they depended on johnny depp to lead the way whenever the movies were moving along. when depp is not around these actors characters can be kind of boring.
but the same argument that I've said in the beginning of this review can also be said about jack like it was in the fourth movie it was boring when it's just him. but for the first movie at least this is a fun terrific ride to start of the trilogy and is definitely a way they need to continue the pirates franchise if they want it to be successful.
