Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) by Richard J — 09 Jul 2013
Not a bad movie for fun escapism. The film is better than At World's End in that it expands the pirates world while also telling a leaner, more focused story. Jack is still fun to watch, but after 4 movies, his antics, as well as Geoffrey Rush's Barbossa voice, have started to wear thin.
Penelope Cruz was a welcome addition, as was Ian McShane who's portrayal of Blackbeard shows a man who's so evil and corrupt he's practically bored with it.
