Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) by Mary H — 02 Oct 2012
This one was I think better than the previous two in that it attempted to try and tell some kind of story....with what I would call classic linear story telling (like the first movie did)(if that's the right way of describing it)...it's still really bad though in my opinion....its just not very engaging ....It has some good bits in it...and it's so nice to see Ian McShane in a movie (he's a great actor)...was also really nice to see Christopher Fairbank!....... I don't really have a problem with Depp's Captain Sparrow...I think it's a pretty original character and he always does it well...but I feel the character is wasted....and all of these chances to make a pirate movie are wasted.
They're really poor movies in my opinion.
