Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (2011) by John J — 08 May 2013
The pirates franchise is dead in the water without Vorbenski directing. Depp is the only saving thing about this film. Its sad they couldnt at least get the extra's from the black perl even to do this film.
The religious guy and mermaid romance is unbelievable and no where close to Kiera Knightley and Orlando Blooms romance. If Disney wants to save this franchise it needs to kiss Vorbenski's ass and offer him 90 billion to direct again and bring back bloom and knightly and maybe have it about thier offspring shown at the end in the theatrical version of 3 past the screen credits (if you stayed) and pass the torch.
Otherwise Pirates is dead in the water. Even G Rush is badly used and written in this. A sad dissapointment, huge, huge fan of the first 3 pirates movies.
