It's not... Terrible. But it certainly doesn't use a lot of the things it introduces as much as I'd like. Plus, it doesn't help that it's a bit muddled and doesn't make too much sense.
The performers do an alright job and the effects are ok, it's just a disappointment considering how great the first film is.
