Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) by Richard R — 06 Aug 2013
Way, way too long and overdone. Enjoyable because of the visuals and the action, not to mention the usual humor and the wonderful performance from a deranged Johnny Depp. But there's too much story packed into it, far too many sequences of confusing action and things which never quite pay off.
There's a battle prepared between pirates and the East India Trading company ships - but instead let's break off to have a showdown between the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman in the eye of a massive storm instead and then never actually get to the battle so therefore making the whole previous two hours of getting all the other pirates on board useless.
A disappointing end to the trilogy.
