Review of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007) by Tatsuhito K — 30 Mar 2017
Having found the first film perfectly enjoyable and the second film damn entertaining, I have to say I was enormously disappointed by "At World's End". This belongs in the same room as "Quantum of Solace" and "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull".
It is dreary, joyless, overly long, and quite exhausting to watch. All the charm and sense of joy that made the previous two passable are gone, in fact, it opens with a grim and highly inappropriate hanging sequence.
WHAT THE #%$&!?!? I was never gripped by the action, the characters seemed to be miserable and exhausted as hell, and I was just bored all the way through. It's a disappointment.
