Review of Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman (2005) by Steven B — 22 Jun 2007
This superbly-acted little drama only stumbles when it forces its characters to unveil too much of their anxieties, shattering its stark elegance in a very un-British apotheosis of feeling. Timothy Spall is a goddamn champion.
(See him in "Secrets & Lies immediately.).
