Review of Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman (2005) by Ryan H — 29 Feb 2008
The story focusses on Spall and how he lives his professional and private life, keeping the two apart until one comes in touch with the other and things take a different turn. It's a good character study and one that I thought didn't glamorise the act of hanging criminals.
It's at times heartbreaking and this is down to Spall's amazing talent.
