Review of Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman (2005) by David S — 25 Oct 2010
Not the cheeriest of subjects, but this film charting the life of executioner Albert Pierrepoint is an engrossing and well acted drama. There are terrific performances from Timothy Spall, Juliet Stevenson and Eddie Marsan, though the rather short running time means that some plot developments and characters are not given enough screen time.
Still, this is an emotional and very watchable film.
