Review of Pieces (2003) by Terri H — 10 Dec 2008
If there ever was a film that never tried to be more than a slasher film, it is this one. There is not a word or event that happens that seeks to step outside of the formula. Everything is geared towards finding out who the killer is and seeing some graphic kills. This is great for getting your fix for 80's blood splattering insanity, but be aware that there really isn't anything else going for it other than some cool music, excellently awful moments of acting and dialog and a cool third act where the best character has the most effective performance and a kill that while should never have happened makes it one of the best endings for this kind of film (run on sentence from hell).
Best moments:
Waterbed murder and the tennis player cum undercover agent screaming Bastard!...BASTARD!.......BBBBAAAASSSTTAAARRRDDD!!!!!
