Review of Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) by Owen J — 16 Jul 2008
If the otherwise excellent final two thirds of this film seem like a comedown, itâ??s because the first act of this beguiling, mysterious film is so astonishingly magical and beautiful, definitely some of the best, most ravishing cinema Iâ??ve experienced.
Once it gets darker, the film isnâ??t quite as captivating, but itâ??s still a magnificent work and arguably the best Australian film ever made.
