Review of Picnic at Hanging Rock (1975) by Filmjoy * — 12 Jun 2012
On the surface Picnic at Hanging Rock may look like a Merchant/Ivory production, but underneath all the beautiful cinematography and production design, it is one of the most tasteful horror films. The story of three college girls' unexplained disappearance at the turn of the century Australia is as haunting as a melody and as mesmerizing as fire.
A must see for sensitive cinema connoisseurs.
