Review of Pickup on South Street (1953) by Caleb M — 07 May 2009
Brutally entertaining. Filled with crooks and pickpockets, rough but good cops, Reds, and the most beautiful and seemingly trusting woman in all of New York City. God I love Jean Peters in this film. Fuller even squeezes out a happy ending, not typical of noir, and makes it not only believable, but just right.
