Review of Pickup on South Street (1953) by Doug C — 21 Aug 2009
A great noir directed by Samuel Fuller with Richard Widmark as a pickpocket who accidentally steals some microfilm carrying confidential U.S. secrets when he picks the pocketbook of courier Jean Peters, then finds himself at the end of a race between the feds and Petersâ??s Communist puppeteers.
Great plot and cast, including Thelma Ritter in one of her outstanding roles.
