Review of Pickpocket (1959) by Chris C — 20 Oct 2008
Easily a classic and one of the best studies of compulsion from this era. Some of the scenes when he's working marks are so tense and brilliant for their time that it's impossible to deny this film's spot as a great classic.
Emotionally, the film failed to really capture me, but I don't think that's what it's about. Not mind blowing, but definitely amazing. Plus Jeanne looks exactly like Natalie Portman without a nosejob!
