Review of Pi (1998) by Sean C — 11 Dec 2011
F me I'm doing this great movie. In my list movies I want to review this was at number three. Then I saw it and decided to just drop the idea until now.
You may ask why now? Well was unable to write reviews last week for Doc. week sooooooo that means I do not have the guts to start up again those last to will go up a random day. I mean I had such a nice flow for Doc. week. Oh yea back to this, I know I still have many others on that list as well but I am still brainstorming what I am going to write for suck and others.
Bad news I am out of time sooo I will be back tonight.
2 days later..... Back. OK this movie is about a math major trying to decode pi with having direct reliance with the stock market. While watching the movie you have no idea what is going on. Perhaps it is becuz I am extremely dumb but I did not understand all of the math references. The part with the spiritual and graph is what confused me the most. I was like lol whud but man I wish I could draw with such a steady hand. I mean there was no hesitation when drawing and it came out perfectly. I know by saying this I have missed the point of the movie.
Even though the movie is black and white I pretty much was able to obtain all of what was going on. I mean there was one issue I had and that was it. There is a part where he is working on his burned out computer and he sticks his hand inside and pulls out a small amount of this stick material. I could not help but think of something strange that of which would be in Naked Lunch.
I was walking home trying to think of additional things to say about the movie with giving away any of the details of the film but I really did not come up with that much so yeah. I am not thrilled becauze this review with be rather short.
Reader: I really hated this movie!
Me: you are entitled to your opinion and I am entitle to me spelling error one but if you don't mind me asking what did you think was wrong with the movie?
Reader: Did you noticed that it was from like the 40s?
Me: what! I have so many issues when you say that!
Ready well did you noticed a lack of colors it was only black and white and Grey so I thought it was as boring as paths of glory. Can you agree with me on that one that it's sucks badly?
Me: No on everything you had just typed. First the movie was released 1998, The movie simply used an effect to make it black and white.....
Reader:and Grey don't forget Grey there was a sea of Grey!
Me:... ok can I continue?
Reader: ummm let me think..... yeah sure continue your pathetic attempt to write.
ME: fine. Paths of glory was great. but I am out of time I will burn you later....
Ok I am back, are you still here reader?
Reader: No.
Now with all the confusion of the actions taking place it beings to blur on what is really happening and for the majority of the movie you will be wondering on what is going on. I was just not a math major so I guess I was not the target audience but besides that their is a part with these people trying to interview him, well that's all peaches and gravy but there is no explanation to who they are.... I mean the only thing I could possibly think of would be to say that our man character is so out of touch with what is going on around him that he has forgotten who these people are. I guess because the entire movie is shot through the prospective of the math major. Besides this the movie is pretty damn close to perfect.
The last thing I will mention is the score when the movie had started I was just trying to relax and then this epic score comes on and in the title roll you notice that this original so it made me like it more. I could not help but think of NIN when listening to it soooo yea that's where I stand on it.
Final Verdict: 85% out 100% If you got some spare time I would recommend this flick to ya. It's very interesting with an ending that only Aronofsky could think of.
