Review of Pi (1998) by Lovro H — 31 Mar 2015
I think this is the cleverest movie I've ever seen! The only movie I can compare it to is "The Number 23", but that movie is not even close to the brilliance of "Pi"! Firstly, this is directed by Darren Aronofsky.
A truly great filmmaker, who reminds me of David Lynch. This movie screams of art. The way it's filmed, the way it's structured is just extraordinary. Secondly, the story is quite a mindfuck. It's very clever and it really intrigues the watcher and makes you think, could this actually be true? The ending is very satisfying and I don't think it could've ended any other way.
Thirdly, the acting is great. Sean Gullette was simply stunning as Max Cohen. All in all, a very interesting and clever movie which has some great acting and an intriguing premise. Would most certainly recommend!
