Review of Pi (1998) by Tor M — 04 Jun 2010
I just really didn't like this movie as much as I thought I would. It's Darren Aronofsky's first film and you can definitely tell it has that "indie" feel to it. There's a very slow and strange pace to the entire film.
I didn't feel connected to the character and more than anything I was confused by the whole concept of the movie. Yes, I understand it's suppose to have a lot of metaphors and such scattered through the film, but it just didn't work for me.
I enjoyed much more of Aronofsky's later films like Requiem for a Dream and The Wrestler...and a side note the music used for this film just did not feel like it was the right choice...take a look if you want to see Darren Aronofskys early work other than that skip it and watch his later stuff.
