Review of Pi (1998) by Timothy S — 14 Jun 2012
Possibly one of the most visually engaging films I've seen, creating a powerful atmosphere of surreal, grimy urban confusion with moments of terror as the protagonist's mind and the outside world turn against him.
The dialogue managed to engage abstract concepts and the practical implications of seeking to grasp them, and while the lead actor convincingly conveyed his circumstance, the character was so single minded that he was almost unrelatable.
